The Island Gift of Life Foundation is a non-profit, 501c(3) charity that provides financial assistance and other related services to people with life threatening illnesses who reside in the townships on the East End of Long Island, NY. We are completely donor funded and our volunteer board members provide all services free of charge. Therefore the bulk of donated funds go directly to the patients. The majority of our funds come from two annual events:
- 12th Annual Cheryl Hannabury Memorial "Celebration of Life" Community Cocktail Party is on Saturday, March 3rd from 6-9pm. Every year, on the first Saturday evening in March we have a party with door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction as well as live auction. Tickets are sold at the door for admission, the auctions and the raffle. We are always in need of new prizes to auction and welcome any donation. Local businesses generously donate their labor or products. Some people offer empty condos or houses in exotic places. Others offer box tickets to athletic or musical events. Cruises are arranged on The South Ferry or on private yachts. The list is long and varied. So if you have anything you wish to donate as prizes for this event please contact us. And be sure to join us in March!
- Beach Blast: Every year, on the weekend after Labor Day, we have our Annual Beach Blast at Wades Beach on Shelter Island. The Island Gift of Life and Camp Quinipet share all funds raised by this event equally. Talented bands and musicians from all over the country perform for the audience on the beach, while food and beverages are sold as well. This is always a great event!
